Romanticism

An exciting and mysterious quality (as of a heroic time or adventure).

Definition by dictionary.com

Or is it better defined by unexpected bouquets of flowers and millions of “I love you”s?
Or simply something that makes your heart go boom boom boom?

Hmm…it cannot be so clear cut. Otherwise, why would men still be baffled by what women want 90% of the time?

Most women want their share of romance and fairytale for their grandchildren. If you are not one by nature, you will become one of these after getting enough dosage of Hollywood movies or Sweet Valley novels. To see what I mean, just observe your mum’s expression whenever your dad comes up with a nice surprise or does something really sweet. Or see how her face drops when your dad dismisses your idea of a romantic escapade for the two of them.

I am a sucker for romance. I like its mysterious quality and its exciting tingle. I like the way it makes me feel special, unique and very loved. Not to mention how it makes one day different from all the days. So if I could buy romance in packets off the shelf, what would I choose?

My trolley

Surprise candlelight dinners
Personal attempts at whipping up that feast
Serenades
Slow dances
Stargazing

Your bouquets of flowers cox you know they make my day
Your appearances at the most unexpected moments cox you know I like surprises
Your letters and notes to me cox you know I like to receive them
Your bringing me to new places cox you know I like adventures
Your planning of special arrangements cox you know I like to be pampered.

Your doing of cross-stitches even if it’s a most girly thing to do
Your drawing of a card even if it looks like the craft of a kid
Your enrolling for dance lessons even if your right foot trips on the left everytime
Your running to buy me a pad even if it’s most embarrassing
Your speaking to me over the phone till I fall asleep even if I am dead drunk and can’t hear you
