Thanks for all your well wishes!

Hi gals! It's been sooooo long since my last entry haha ... think I've been super busy & writing has never been my strong attribute ... but I think I must thank you all for all your well wishes & share our story with all my lovely friends :)

We went through 1.5 mths of painful waiting & countless times of opening to an empty mailbox ... I still remembered once when he said " Dear, why don't you open the mailbox for me, you have always been my lucky star"; I was nervous ... opened ... and still there was no mail". Couldn't really sleep that night ... Time passed & chances grew slimmer. Deep down inside I was so afraid that he would not get it. We tried to avoid bringing up the subject but I could hear his sighs every night over the other end of the line... I was so disturbed and couldn't focus in the office - it hurts me so much because I know how badly he wanted it ... I prayed everyday ...

Finally, Tat received a call from his Mum that the postman came to deliver a registered parcel but no one was at home on a Friday ... then his Mum asked for a re-collection on Mon. Oh my god!! We couldn't do anything but wait! and it was the most awful wait!! Is it good news?? Acceptance letter? ... it should be good right?? but what if it's bad news ... oh no, we shouldn't raise our hopes too high ... all these stupid thoughts flooded our minds ... luckily, Tat managed to contact the Post office & arranged for a re-delivery on Sat. I was never happier to see a Postman in my life haha!!

There we were, an envelope in Tat's hands & 3 woman - his mum, me & his Ah-ma on her wheelchair. He opened the envelope ... I was frantically trying to search through the words ... & there it was in BOLD - "ACCEPTANCE" ... I screamed! We were overjoyed! His Mummy hugged him & she extended her arms to hug me as well ... after which she asked his Ah-ma in Teochew "do you know what's the news? do you know what's happening" - (coz Tat's Ah-ma is very old and sometimes can't even recognise people)... then Ah-ma teared and said in a trembling voice, "Ah-boy is going to be a doctor" ... she started to cry ... oh dear .. then I couldn't control my tears anymore; I didn't realise that I have penned up my emotions for so long ... crying was a relief and they were all happy tears ...

But the most touching thing was when Tat pulled me into his room, he knelt down & said to me, "Dear, thank you for sticking by me all these while ... now we are finally on par & I finally feel worthy for you... "..... - I'm can't seems to find the right words to describe my feelings, but i guess gals if you know us long enough, you'll understand ... this 7 year love marathon has never been easy but now, it just deepen my love for this man ... he makes me feel like the luckiest woman in this world... This is a whole new beginning & we'll both work very hard for our future ... I truly believe that he will definitely make a wonderful doctor ... and of course, we also want to thank all you, my dearest friends for being with me all these while... I love you all ....

All right, enough of all these mushy stuff ... on a lighter note, just to share on the replies I have received from all of you thru sms - the funniest have to be from Gis - quote
"Wow! He must be very happy :-) now you can tell pple u have a doc boyfriend .. (hee) and I can get mc for free (double hee hee) :P "
It's so Gis ... haha

HK over the Weekend - the Remake!

A little peeved that my earlier post got lost when the page hung mailto:*@##$%^%&*&$##!!!!!!!!!!!!!*
Anyway.
First thing I came back to HK and sat down in front of my desk, and I could literally feel the chair sink a couple of inches. But I'll worry about that later. After all, Hong Kong is for stuffy yourself silly ....and shopping yourself broke ain't it!? hahaha
Considering the short amount of time I spent there, am beginning to realize that too much of it was spent eating!!!
Slept in the first day I was there coz I was up all night the before the day I flew to clear work...
Nothing like an over-generous portion of HK dim sum to kick start the trip ;p hehe... think I scared Chun a little the way I was going down the list and doing, ok lets have this and this and this and that and that... oh and that and that too! ;p

After that it was off to IFC building to shop for wedding bands, although I couldn't find something I liked. Maybe it's time to visit the Tiffany website.... mwahahahahaahah!
Then I nearly... very very nearly.. bought my first pair of Nine West shoes. heheh... but was thinking about it and decided to come back home to check out prices before sucumbing to impulse.

Headed across the straits to Kowloon and stumbled upon some street artists. I'd always wanted to have a caricature done, and so I just plopped myself on the first one I saw. Sadly though, nearly one and a half hours and some painstaking touch-ups later, the gal in the drawing still didn't look like me. Upset.
That's me.........
Was walking around and stumbled upon the very posh looking, very Victorian Peninsular Hotel. Jazz band there was good so decided to stay for hot chocolate and some chit chat.

Headed back to Lan Kwai Fong after that, and believe it or not, bought briyani back for dinner after that.

Some night / evening shots of Kowloon...

Started off second day at a cha2 can1 ting1 .. something that sounded like "Swee Wah" for some good ol' local breakfast.. Giselle, these shots are specially for you!!!! ;p

heheheh..... after we fed ourselves it was time to conquer the crowds and head off to Shenzhen where the REAL shopping begins!!!!!! CHOOSE CLOTHES BARGAIN BARGAIN CHOOSE CLOTH BARGAIN BARGAIN CHOOSE AND BARGAIN AGAIN AND AGAIN...hahahahah....man was I BROKE at the end of it. And that was only one shop.

But all's well ends well... and I'll be enjoying the spoils of my efforts not too long from now!!! Poor Chun, I didn't realize that the tailor took measurements for every single piece of clothing I chose, she was just sitting there most of the time waiting for me and we had to reschedule the pamper-ourselves program lined up that evening coz we simply wouldn't have made it back to HK on time.
Through the maddening crowds once more and we were finally back. I was so pooped. But there's nothing that a nice rest couldn't cure, and we're off to Lan Kwai Fong!!!

Soaked in the HK night life at one of the pubs (I am APPALLED that there is almost no dancing at the clubs around here... although the pubbing scene is definitely more lifely than in SG). The crowds simply spill onto the streets and you can hear music blaring even when you can't reawlly tell where it's coming from. Well, but dancing is my thing, so the pubbing without the dancing couldn't really hold my attention for long. Went around the mid-levels and Soho area, and got to see a slice of the real HK, as in, the HK to Hong Kongers. Where the residential shoe boxes are located, where tall and skinny point blocks just stick out from nowhere..

The last day in HK was spent doing facial and going around Causeway Bay, and buying pastries home. Went to Goods Of Desire as well, this furniture place that's quite like IKEA but much posh-er looking ;p

Can't really imagine, my last day in HK and we went to eat Jap... but it was REALLY good Jap food!!! And of course there was congee.... and there was dessert (the entire time I was in HK, I was dragging Chun looking for this place called Yee Shun milk company for the famous steamed milk, and I am proud to say I was the one who first intro-ed Chun to the delicacy!!!!!! Yeash it's just milk, but who cares!!! It has EARNED its place on the delicacies list!!!), and there was streetside dim sum, and mango sago with mango puree.... hmmm.... bliss....
hahaha... spoken like a true foodie! Of course the calories are taking no timin getting to my ass... those efficient buggers... but well, will worry about them another day...

Wasn't too adventurous with the sight-seeing and shoppoing, but all in all it was a great trip and I had lots of fun! Hahaha.. there is nothing quite like catching up eith a friend over home-made hot chocolate on the balcony enjoying the balmy night breeze (albeit a little polluted) ;p
Will definitely do the islands on my next trip, and mind you there will be one... cheap tailored clothes are TOO good to pass up!!!!! ;p
